Michael Williams, Managing Director of the Blackpool Dance Festivals and BECL , confirmed: “Following a series of detailed deliberations this is a decision that we have not taken lightly, and we have done so with the highest regard for public health and the wellbeing of all dancers, officials and supporters who were due to attend next week’s events. Following thorough and extensive consideration of all scenarios and the likelihood that the UK Government’s measures will continue for many weeks, it is our view that we must act responsibly to protect the large numbers of people that were due to attend the Championships....
